What is Hammerhead Racing and Hammerhead Kustoms?
Hammerhead Racing/Hammerhead Kustoms began as a way to support Mark Eckert's drag racing hobby/obsession.
So began the business of working for racers who wanted to have high performance or custom-looking cars, but lacked the facilities or knowledge to build them themselves.
Mark gets a lot of requests from folks to help with their cars, so his friend Katie said,
"Why don't you start a race shop?"
Mark's son Cameron has the nickname "Hammerhead", and since he is the Jr. gearhead of the house, the name Hammerhead Racing was the obvious choice.
We are in our second location here in Edgewater. We started out in a rented building but have moved up the street into a new facility with all the modern amenities to serve the customer better. We are teamed up with D&E Total Performance, located in the same building, to provide all the needs your race car could ever need. We have the ability to work on everything from doorslammer outlaw 10.5 cars to front engine "Digger" dragsters, and everything in between. Custom tube bending? Done on site. Roll cage installs? Done on site. Custom paint work? Done here as well. We can build and do most anything you could ever want or need in our new 6500+ square foot facility. From 13 second daily drivers to 6 second outlaw cars, we build and race 'em all. Come by and see the outlaw Mustang, Eric's weekend toy!
